UU直播 named one of Canada's Top Employers

The UU直播 is one of the top five employers in Canada, according to a ranking by Forbes.
In the global media company鈥檚 released Jan. 26, UU直播 moved up five spots from tenth overall in 2020 to fifth in 2021.
The ranking is based on an independent survey of more than 8,000 Canadian employees working for companies with more than 500 employees in Canada and includes non-unionized and unionized employers. Participants were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family.

Our ability to attract great talent across the university is what helps make us successful,鈥 said Kelly Hannah-Moffat, vice-president of human resources and equity. 鈥淭he university is delighted to be recognized on the Forbes list of Canada鈥檚 Best Employers 2021. This is particularly meaningful in a year where faculty, staff and the university worked together to address the challenges of the global pandemic.鈥
Equitable compensation, generous parental leave and child-care benefits, tuition waivers, phased retirement and a defined benefit pension plan are available for appointed faculty, librarians and staff, Hannah-Moffat said, noting a collegial relationship with employee groups allows the university to continue to be a top employer. As well, showcases many of the annual awards that make up UU直播鈥檚 formal recognition strategy, and allows colleagues to informally recognize each other for small victories and day-to-day accomplishments.
